Mr. Whittet has been a part of the high performance building field as a contractor, designer, developer and consultant on work across the United States for over three decades. Dan built solar powered island homes off the coast of Maine and off grid Net Zero buildings in the mountains of Colorado, before turning to sustainability consulting full time. Currently active in the Massachusetts USGBC and a voting member of the ASHRAE SSPC 189.1 where he is helping shape an international Green Building standard intended to combine attributes of energy efficiency, responsible supply chain, emissions reductions and resource conservation. Passionate about craft, quality of life and culture he writes and blogs about these subjects often and takes every opportunity to explore new ways to see, appreciate and encourage a better world. A board member of the Architects, Designers and Planners for Social responsibility he also participates in the USGBC Social Equity Working Group developing ways to expand the potential of LEED.
